Puncture repair
We repair punctures in Al Quoz — where the damage is genuinely repairable. Not every puncture is. A nail through the central tread can usually be fixed permanently; damage to the sidewall or shoulder cannot be repaired safely by anyone, and we will tell you that rather than sell you a repair that will fail.
Do you need this?
Bring the car in if a tyre is losing pressure, if you can see a nail or screw in the tread, or if the pressure warning light has come on. Drive as little as possible on a flat — running a deflated tyre destroys the internal structure and turns a repairable puncture into a replacement.
Signs to look for
- A tyre that needs topping up more often than the others
- A visible nail, screw or piece of metal in the tread
- A TPMS warning light
- Hissing you can hear when the car is stationary
- The car pulling to one side on a straight road
What we actually do
Step by step, so you know what you are paying for.
The wheel comes off and the tyre is removed from the rim — a proper repair cannot be assessed from the outside.
We inspect the inside of the casing for hidden damage caused by running the tyre flat.
We locate the injury and measure it, and determine whether it falls within the repairable area.
If repairable: the hole is prepared and a combination patch-plug is fitted from the inside, sealing both the tread and the inner liner.
The tyre is refitted, balanced, and checked for leaks.
If it is not repairable, we show you exactly why before recommending replacement.

Questions we get asked
Can a sidewall puncture be repaired?
No. A sidewall puncture can never be repaired safely, and no reputable workshop will attempt it. The sidewall flexes constantly as the wheel turns, so any patch there will eventually work loose — usually at speed. A sidewall-damaged tyre must be replaced.
How big a puncture can be repaired?
Up to about 6mm across, and only within the central tread area — roughly the middle three-quarters of the tread width. Anything larger, anything in the shoulder or sidewall, or two injuries close together, means the tyre must be replaced.
Is a plug from the outside good enough?
No. An external plug is an emergency get-you-home measure, not a permanent repair, because it does not seal the inner liner and the tyre is never inspected internally. We remove the tyre from the rim and fit a combination patch-plug from the inside, which is the only permanent method.
I drove on it flat. Can it still be repaired?
Often not. Running a tyre with little or no pressure destroys the internal casing even when the outside still looks fine, and that damage is only visible once the tyre is off the rim. We will inspect it and tell you honestly — but expect a replacement rather than a repair.
