Oil change
Oil changes matter more in this climate than in most. Sustained high ambient temperatures and heavy air-conditioning load mean engine oil degrades faster here than the same oil would in Europe, and short city trips in traffic are harder on it than long motorway runs.
Do you need this?
Follow your manufacturer’s interval, but treat it as a maximum rather than a target if you mostly do short trips in traffic. Check the oil level monthly — many modern engines consume oil normally between changes, and running low is far more damaging than slightly old oil.
Signs to look for
- Oil-change or service light on the dashboard
- Oil that looks thin or feels gritty on the dipstick
- The engine sounding noisier than usual on start-up
- Oil level below the minimum mark (top up now and have it checked)
- More than a year since the last change, regardless of mileage

Step by step, so you know what you are paying for.
We confirm the exact oil grade and quantity your engine requires.
The car is lifted and the old oil is drained fully warm, which removes far more of it than a cold drain.
The sump plug washer is replaced and the plug is torqued correctly.
The oil filter is replaced and the new one is primed and sealed properly.
Fresh oil is added to the correct level and the engine is run and rechecked.
We check the other fluid levels and give you a written note of anything that needs attention.

How often should I change my oil in the UAE?
Follow your manufacturer’s interval as a maximum, and consider shortening it if you mostly drive short trips in city traffic. Sustained heat and heavy air-conditioning load degrade oil faster here than in temperate climates, and stop-start driving never lets the oil reach its ideal operating temperature.
Does it matter which oil grade you use?
Yes, considerably. Modern engines have tight tolerances and oil-pressure-actuated systems such as variable valve timing that are designed around a specific viscosity. Using the wrong grade can cause poor running and, over time, real wear. We use the grade your manufacturer specifies.
Is synthetic oil worth it in this climate?
Generally yes. Fully synthetic oils hold their viscosity better at sustained high temperatures and resist thermal breakdown longer, which is exactly the stress a UAE summer applies. Many modern engines specify synthetic anyway and will not perform correctly on anything else.
