Brakes are the one system where "we will look at it next time" is not an acceptable answer. We inspect pads, discs, fluid and hardware, tell you what is genuinely worn versus what has life left, and give you the measurements rather than an opinion.
Do you need this?
Have brakes checked if you hear squealing or grinding, if the pedal feels soft or travels further than it used to, or if the car pulls to one side under braking. Also worth a check annually regardless — brake fluid absorbs moisture over time and loses effectiveness even if nothing feels wrong.
Signs to look for
- Squealing, which is usually the wear indicator doing its job
- Grinding, which means the pads are gone and the discs are being damaged
- A soft or spongy pedal, or one that sinks slowly
- Vibration through the pedal under braking, usually warped discs
- The car pulling to one side when braking
- A brake warning light

Pad thickness is measured and recorded, not estimated.
Disc thickness and runout are measured against the manufacturer minimum.
Calipers, slide pins and flexible hoses are checked for seizure, leaks and perishing.
Brake fluid is tested for moisture content.
We report what is worn, what is close, and what is fine — with the numbers.
Agreed work is carried out and the system is bled and road-tested.

Questions we get asked
How do I know when my brake pads need replacing?
Most pads have a metal wear indicator that squeals when about 3mm of friction material remains. If you hear grinding instead, the pad is already gone and the backing plate is cutting into the disc — which turns a pad replacement into a pad and disc replacement.
Why does my brake pedal vibrate?
Usually warped or unevenly worn discs. The pad thickness varies as the disc rotates, which you feel as a pulse through the pedal. It is common after heavy braking from high speed, which the descent from Dubai’s flyovers in traffic produces regularly.
Does brake fluid really need changing?
Yes. Brake fluid is hygroscopic — it absorbs moisture from the air over time. Water in the system lowers the boiling point, so under heavy braking the fluid can vaporise and the pedal goes to the floor. Most manufacturers specify a change every two years regardless of mileage.
