A/C service at our Al Quoz workshop

A/C service

In Dubai, air conditioning is not a comfort feature — it is the difference between a usable car and an unusable one. We diagnose properly before regassing, because a system that has lost its gas has lost it through a leak, and simply refilling it means you will be back in a few months.

About 90 minutes

Do you need this?

Have the system checked if the air is not as cold as it was, if it takes much longer to cool down, if there is a smell when you turn it on, or if you hear the compressor clutch cycling rapidly.

Signs to look for

  • Air noticeably less cold than last summer
  • Takes a long time to cool the cabin
  • A musty or sour smell when the system starts
  • Rapid clicking as the compressor clutch cycles on and off
  • Water pooling inside the cabin footwell
  • Reduced airflow at full fan speed

What we actually do

Step by step, so you know what you are paying for.

  1. We measure the system pressures on both the high and low side to see how it is actually performing.

  2. We check the cabin filter and airflow first — a blocked filter is a very common cause of "weak" air conditioning and is cheap to fix.

  3. The system is leak-tested with UV dye or an electronic detector rather than assumed.

  4. Any leak found is repaired before regassing, so the gas stays in.

  5. The system is evacuated, vacuum-held to confirm it is sealed, and recharged to the exact manufacturer weight.

  6. Vent temperature is measured to confirm the result.

Included in the price

  • Full pressure diagnosis
  • Leak test
  • Evacuation and vacuum hold test
  • Refrigerant recharge to manufacturer weight
  • Vent temperature verification
  • 5% VAT

Nothing is added at the counter. If we find something unexpected, we tell you the cost and wait for you to agree before doing it.

Questions we get asked

Why is my car A/C not cold in Dubai?

The most common causes are low refrigerant from a slow leak, a blocked cabin air filter restricting airflow, a condenser clogged with dust and sand, or a failing compressor. Pressure testing distinguishes between them quickly — guessing and regassing does not.

How often does car A/C need regassing?

A properly sealed system should not need regassing at all. Systems lose a small amount naturally over many years, but if yours needs gas every season there is a leak, and refilling it repeatedly is both expensive and environmentally poor practice.

What is the musty smell when I turn the A/C on?

Bacterial growth on the evaporator, which stays damp in the humid coastal air. It is usually cured by replacing the cabin filter and treating the evaporator. Running the fan without the compressor for the last minute of a journey helps dry it out and prevent recurrence.
