Mid-rangeTaiwanese, made by Cheng Shin Rubber, and one of the largest producers by volume - mostly bicycle and motorcycle tyres, which is why the name is familiar outside cars. The strength is 4x4 and pickup rubber: the Bighorn all-terrain and mud patterns are well known across the Gulf for tough sidewalls and high load ratings. Road-going passenger tyres are more ordinary, and the aggressive patterns are noisy at motorway speed.

Whichever brand you choose, check the manufacture date
A premium brand that has spent four years in a warehouse is a worse buy than a fresh mid-range tyre, because in the UAE a tyre is illegal five years from the date moulded into its sidewall. Ask to see that date before any tyre is fitted.
