Mitsubishi tyres and servicing in Dubai

Mitsubishi is everywhere in Dubai. The Pajero and Montero Sport do the school run and the weekend dunes, the L200 works every industrial estate in Al Quoz and the Attrage racks up taxi and fleet mileage that would frighten most cars. They are honest, straightforward vehicles to work on. What they mostly need here is unglamorous: tyres that are actually within date, clean filters and suspension that has survived the speed bumps.

Common Mitsubishi tyre sizes

  • 265/60R18 (Pajero)
  • 265/65R17 (Montero Sport)
  • 245/70R16 (L200)
  • 175/65R14 (Attrage)
  • 205/60R16 (Lancer EX)

Always check the placard inside your driver’s door — trim levels and wheel options change the size, and a previous owner may have fitted something different.

Worth knowing in UAE conditions

  • Pajeros and Montero Sports used on the dunes come back with fatigued sidewalls. Dropping to 15 psi for sand and then driving home on 70C tarmac without reinflating is what kills those tyres, not the sand itself.
  • Attrage and Lancer fleet cars cover enormous mileage on small 14 and 15-inch tyres, and low-use fleet cars regularly hit the five-year age limit on the date code with plenty of tread left.
  • L200 pickups are almost always loaded past what the rear leaf springs were meant to carry. It shows as inner shoulder wear on the rear tyres and a back end that sits low and bounces.
  • Radiator and condenser fins pack solid with fine Al Quoz sand. On a Pajero idling in traffic with the A/C at full load that is the difference between cold air and a rising temperature gauge.
