Always check the placard inside your driver’s door — trim levels and wheel options change the size, and a previous owner may have fitted something different.

Worth knowing in UAE conditions

• Wranglers get aired down for the dunes and driven home still soft, which builds heat in the sidewalls and is how most of the blowouts we see actually start.
• All-terrain tyres often carry a lower speed rating than the roads here demand, and 45C plus sustained 120 km/h is unforgiving of an old or worn set.
• Sand gets into wheel bearings, brake dust shields and steering joints, so a Wrangler that lives in the desert wears its front end far faster than one that does not.
• Lift kits change caster and track bar angles, and the wobble people describe through the steering usually traces back to worn joints or a lift that was never properly aligned.
