Always check the placard inside your driver’s door — trim levels and wheel options change the size, and a previous owner may have fitted something different.

- Small city cars spend their lives in stop-start traffic with the A/C at maximum, and the condenser fills with sand and dust until cooling falls away at idle
- The 500's small engine bay runs hot in summer and coolant hoses and the expansion tank crack with age rather than mileage
- Older cars in this segment often carry tyres well past the five year legal age limit because tread depth still looks acceptable. Sidewall cracking is what fails them
