Mid-rangeMadras Rubber Factory is India's largest tyre manufacturer and its reputation is built on casings that survive abuse: kerbs, potholes, overloaded pickups and long stints on hot tarmac. Strongest in pickup, light-truck and common saloon sizes rather than large-diameter low-profile SUV fitments. On the machine they feel heavy and stiff, which shows up as more road noise and a firmer ride than a Japanese mid-tier tyre. Wet braking is adequate rather than good.

A premium brand that has spent four years in a warehouse is a worse buy than a fresh mid-range tyre, because in the UAE a tyre is illegal five years from the date moulded into its sidewall. Ask to see that date before any tyre is fitted.
