Hyundai is one of the highest-volume marques on Dubai roads and a large share of it is rental and company fleet. That shows up in the workshop: cars with four different tyre brands on them, tread run down to the wear bars, or low-mileage cars whose tyres have quietly aged past the five-year limit. Tucson, Santa Fe, Creta, Elantra and Palisade all pass through here regularly and none of them ask for anything exotic.

Always check the placard inside your driver’s door — trim levels and wheel options change the size, and a previous owner may have fitted something different.
Worth knowing in UAE conditions
- Ex-rental and ex-fleet cars often arrive with mismatched tyres, or a set that has passed the five-year age limit while the tread still looks perfectly good. Read the DOT date, not the depth.
- The A/C condenser sits in front of the radiator and packs solid with Al Quoz dust and fine sand. It shows up as weak cooling at the lights and a compressor working far harder than it should.
- The seven-speed dual-clutch on the 1.6 turbo Tucson and Creta heat-soaks in stop-start traffic and judders from a standstill long before it ever fails outright.
- Batteries rarely see much past two Dubai summers, and a Hyundai with a tired battery throws odd electrical faults well before it stops starting.
