Genesis is Hyundai's luxury arm and the GV80 and G80 are the cars we actually see, usually on 20 or 21 inch wheels. Mechanically they are straightforward for an independent garage - brakes, tyres, dampers, fluids - but they carry the full driver assistance suite and a great deal of module-level electronics. Most are still inside the Genesis warranty and service package, which is worth knowing before you book anything in with us.

Always check the placard inside your driver’s door — trim levels and wheel options change the size, and a previous owner may have fitted something different.
Worth knowing in UAE conditions
- The staggered fitment on G80 means the rears cannot be rotated forward. They wear out first, they want replacing in pairs and it catches owners out at the first set.
- A 45 profile on a 21 inch wheel leaves almost no sidewall. Sheikh Zayed Road expansion joints and unlit community speed bumps buckle these rims regularly.
- The 3.5 twin-turbo V6 sits in a tightly packed bay. Summer traffic heat soak is hard on the coolant hoses, the intercooler pipework and the auxiliary belt.
- Genesis leaves the factory on soft, quiet touring tyres chosen for refinement. They give up quickly in this heat and owners are often surprised how short the first set is.
