Worth knowing in UAE conditions

• EcoBoost intercoolers and charge pipe couplers work hard in Gulf heat, and a split coupler usually shows up as sudden boost loss halfway through a motorway pull.
• The 3.5 V6 in Explorers and Edges drives its water pump off the timing chain, so a failing seal dumps coolant inside the engine rather than onto the driveway - heat brings that forward.
• Radiators and A/C condensers on the big pickups pack solid with fine sand and dust, which pushes coolant and gearbox temperatures up on a loaded run.
• The 10-speed automatic in F-150s and Explorers is sensitive to fluid condition, and stop-start city driving at 45C degrades it faster than the service book assumes.
